Outcome
Utilising my unique blend of design acumen and understanding of machine learning and AI, I conceptualised and developed an industry-first software solution. This groundbreaking tool empowers litigators by synthesising and quantifying data from state superior court judges. Despite the complexity of our data, I managed to present it in a digestible format for a traditionally number-averse audience, allowing lawyers to transition from subjective anecdotes to hard, data-backed insights. This innovation led to Gavelytics winning prestigious awards and securing a patent, solidifying our reputation as a trailblazer in the legal-tech industry.
Patent
Me and my team were granted a patent US 10,452,734 B1 for a Data Visualisation Platform for Use in a Network Environment. See it here

Gavelytics
The Company
Gavelytics, pioneered by former LA Litigator Rick Merrill, is the embodiment of the transformative power of AI in the field of law. Our mission is to provide an objective view of judges' tendencies, employing AI to decipher extensive litigation data for meaningful, actionable insights. Our continuous innovation has made us a beacon in legal analytics and technology, setting new standards in the industry.
The Context
Joining Gavelytics as the third team member, I was entrusted with the challenging task of transforming legal software from traditionally text-heavy and uninspiring to visually stimulating and insightful. My mandate was clear – to assist lawyers in assimilating information and facilitating data-backed decision-making, all without having to dive deep into exhaustive text, a far cry from the norm in legal software.
The Role
As the Product Designer at Gavelytics, I embraced the challenge of weaving our Subject Matter Expert's knowledge into a comprehensive product that expertly balanced business objectives and user needs. My role extended beyond design, involving strategic decisions on product development that helped define the Gavelytics experience. I also had the privilege of naming the company and designing its logo, further embedding my contribution into the fabric of the organization.
