These are some of the tools I use in terms of the activity and an indicative timeline or process, to go from an idea to an idea well delivered.
Throughout my experience in project management, I have utilised a range of processes and tools to effectively track and coordinate various projects. From the agile-inspired boards of Trello to the comprehensive features of Jira and OmniPlan, I have adapted my approach to fit the specific needs and methodologies of each project.
In my journey of documenting design and development requirements, project plans, and deliverables, I have relied on a versatile set of tools including Notion, Confluence, and SharePoint. These robust platforms have empowered me to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, facilitating efficient collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
In my pursuit of data-driven decision-making and conversion rate optimisation, I have leveraged powerful tools such as Google Analytics, Optimizely, and Hotjar to track and assess user behaviour across various web and app projects. Complementing these tools, I have utilised Excel and Python to process and analyse quantitative user data, extracting valuable insights to inform strategic optimisations and drive results.
In my role as a facilitator, I have leveraged the power of online whiteboarding tools like Miro, Figjam, and Mural to foster collaborative workshop experiences, engage stakeholders, and set clear expectations. These dynamic platforms have provided a virtual canvas for brainstorming, visualizing ideas, and co-creating solutions, enabling effective communication and driving successful outcomes in diverse projects.
Harnessing the power of low-fidelity wireframing, I have employed tools like Balsamiq and hand-drawn sketches to share early ideas inexpensively and co-design solutions with diverse stakeholders. Complementing these tools, I have utilised Omnigraffle to convert those sketches into wireflows, enabling early prototyping and capturing any potential gaps in task-flows.
In my pursuit of user-centric design, I have employed a range of tools and processes to conduct effective user research and usability testing. By leveraging survey tools like SurveyMonkey and Typeform, as well as user testing platforms such as Optimal Workshop and UserZoom, I have obtained unbiased insights about users. Additionally, panel tools like Farron Research and Askable have aided in sourcing high-quality participants, ensuring valuable and targeted research outcomes.
In my journey of high-fidelity wireframing and prototyping, I have harnessed the power of industry-leading tools. Figma has become my go-to tool, offering collaborative capabilities and enabling me to create pixel-perfect wireframes and seamless high-fidelity prototypes and ensure a cohesive and user-centered design experience.
To streamline the design process, I've used tools like Abstract and Zeplin for version control and design handoff. These tools maintain design consistency, track changes, and effectively communicate design specifications. Additionally, I've leveraged Sketch and Figma to create meticulous design systems, enabling scalability and efficiency across projects.
Through these processes and tools, I consistently deliver polished, minimalistic, and organised design systems. The combination of Figma's collaboration, version control tools, and design systems empowers teams and elevates user experiences, meeting the needs of users and stakeholders alike.

Edgar supported me during my early days as a UX Designer. He provided a listening ear, materials and resources that were spot-on, relevant snippets of his own portfolio to guide me in showcasing my own work and general confidence-boosting advice when I needed it most. I recommend Edgar to anyone looking for a mentor in the UX space. He's also super flexible; with Edgar being based in Sydney, Australia and I in London, UK, we were able to coordinate timings half a world away.
I met with Edgar for a mentoring session recently through the LinkedIn mentoring feature. Edgar was really generous with his time in breaking down the reality of working in the UX industry (which was my main question). The short catch up was invaluable in getting a realistic view of UX beyond the hype, and helped me understand that beyond technical skills, UX roles are actually about soft skills, stakeholder management and building strong relationships between teams. For newbies (and even more experienced UXers), I would highly recommend Edgar for mentoring as he has invaluable expertise and insights to offer.
I was so fortunate and honoured to have Ed as my mentor this year. I was looking at improving some of the softer areas in my career. He was a fantastic mentor where he helped me see things in different angles, asked LOTS of hard and provoking questions, combined with some visualisation techniques. I have learned a lot from Ed and I am still applying some of the techniques that he taught me. In addition, he would constantly share with me relevant articles and videos so I know I am not forgotten. He's not only great at what he does but also he has such a great, big, caring heart. If only I could have him as a colleague / lead that'd be even more perfect :)
